    CUB SCOUTING

Cub Scouting is a family and home centered program that develops ethical decision-making skills for youth in kindergarten through fifth grade (or who are 5 to 10 years old). Activities emphasize character development, citizenship training, and personal fitness.

In Cub Scouting you'll have lots of fun, adventure, and activities with your den and pack. But there's more to it than that. Being a Cub Scout means you are a member of a worldwide youth movement that stands for certain values and beliefs. Cub Scouting is more than something to do. It's all about the person you are and the person you will become.

    VENTURING

Venturing is a youth development program of the Boy Scouts of America for young men and women who are 14 years of age OR 13 years of age and have completed the eighth grade and under 21 years of age. Venturing's purpose is to provide positive experiences to help young people mature and to prepare them to become responsible and caring adults.

    SCOUTS BSA

Scouts BSA is a year-round program for boys and girls age 11 - 17. Children who are 10.5 may join if they have received the Arrow of Light Award or have finished the fifth grade. Scouts BSA is a program of fun outdoor activities, peer group leadership opportunities, and a personal exploration of career, hobby and special interests, all designed to achieve the BSA's objectives of strengthening character, personal fitness and good citizenship.

    SEA SCOUTS

Sea Scouts is a specialized segment of the Venturing program, which was organized to address members' boating skills and promote knowledge of our maritime heritage.

Sea Scout units, called "ships," focus on sailing and cruising either sailboats or power vessels. During the boating seasons, Sea Scouts learn to maintain and operate then vessel, with a focus on learning the safe and proper methods of handling boats. Sea Scouts also learn the meaning of buoys and lights, how to take advantage of wind and tide, and how to drop anchor or approach a dock.

    ORDER OF THE ARROW

For more than 95 years, the Order of the Arrow (OA) has recognized Scouts and Scouters who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives. This recognition provides encouragement for others to live these ideals as well. Arrowmen are known for maintaining camping traditions and spirit, promoting year-round and long-term resident camping, developing leaders, and providing cheerful service to others. OA service, activities, adventures, and training for youth and adults are models of quality leadership development and programming that enrich, support, and help to extend Scouting to America's youth.

    EAGLE SCOUT ASSOCIATION

The National Eagle Scout Association (NESA) is a fellowship of people who have achieved the Eagle Scout rank and who desire to use their efforts and influence toward forming the kind of young men America needs for leadership.

The Buffalo Trace Council Eagle Scout Association exists to bring the experience, expertise and leadership of Eagle Scouts to the service of Scouting in Buffalo Trace Council.  If you are an Eagle Scout, you are an official member.
